Somebody dredged up some photos of my '36, which made me think of the many cars I've, ahem, improved over the years. Most of 'em have been GM products (I have a soft spot for Pontiacs), but a few Fords have had the misfortune of being mine. Here are three of them, the black one is the latest victim...
local guy did a '35-'36 roadster type rod, bet he saw a pic of your's... his w/s stantions ran vertical... not tilted inward... I like down sizing the body like that...
No, the '36 went to Louisiana (or Mississippi?). The 'bird is resting in the shop for the '34 to be finished up, then it'll be painted and put back together.
My favorite is that black one. Good gracious. I think the proportions are just perfect, for what a novice opinion is worth.
Some guy actually asked me at a gas station, "What year is that Prowler?" He was serious. I guess it was better than, "Nice Dune Buggy!"
I remember seeing the green car at a Goodguys show in Charlotte,North Carolina and knowing the car from the hamb I made my way over to introduce myself ,I stuck my hand out and said I'm Danny but go by hotrodprimer on the hamb, and the man looked at me like I had two eyes. After a awkward minute or so he told me he had recently purchased the car. HRP
Back in the early 80s I street rodded a 36 Ford 5 window coupe that I found in Scio, Oregon. I have never forgiven myself.
Is that color green the Model A Kiwanni (I can't spell ) Green? It looks like the same color as My Coupe in my Avatar. I bought the car painted this color and have had a hard time finding someone with the right formula to match it so I can touch up a few rock chips. I really like that green car, different for sure, sure says hot rod.
What is the name of the color green on this car? It looks like the same color my Model A coupe is painted. I was told that it is Kiwani Green. ( I think that is how you spell it ). I have not been able to verify this though , and cannot find a modern paint code in any of the paint stores here in Alaska
No name for this one, I used a color wheel and picked an olive green that I liked. I think it was a PPG code, but no clue any longer what it was. Sorry!
Thanks for letting me know, I appreciate you taking the time to answer. That green car is awesome, if I had known it was for sale, I may have been interested in buying it. I bought the coupe in my avatar 3 years ago, while I keep plugging away on my 29 roadster project. Thank you.-----Jim
