I'm wondering if anyone has taken '33 or '34 Ford coupes and built a roadster. I believe CLARK did one. Anyone else? Let's see them pics.

I'm also very interested in seeing pics, as I would like to build one and I've got coupe quarters, roadster door tops and 4 door sedan bottoms, and a sedan cowl.

I hope I'm not hijacking but I would very much like to see how people handled the transition from door tops to cowl and also the rear cockpit opening, in-progress pics would be fantastic!

I think I remember Clark's build having a really nice transition from doors to dash but the pictures aren't visible anymore, at least, they weren't when I last tried looking.

No problem bro. That's why I'm looking to see some of these cars and how guys handle the transitions and the doors.

Was that one kinda green-ish color?

My car has a set of roadster top bows. This is just a mock up with tape....but the top will fold down into the car.
What kind of pics you want? 20170625_175337.jpg

Very very nice Clark! I'd like to see any pics that show what was involved in turning the coupe into a roadster. You did a STELLAR job (from what I can see) on converting the doors (actually the whole car!) Beltline and around the back of the cab area also.
    Thanks !!!

Pictures showing where cuts were made, like with new pieces tacked in or just as-cut, would be really helpful, showing how much of the original steel was used and how much was fabbed or replaced. Also pics of the back of the cockpit, either finished or in-progress, would be helpful (to me at least). Those seem to be the hang-up areas on other coupesters.

  17. If I am not mistaken the roadster cowl is at least 1" longer is it not?

Not a model 40, but I used that plastic decking that is infused with sawdust, I let gravity and the sun bow it for vertical contour and made paper templates of my horizontal surface... [3] pieces.
cut the sections out, they sand ok, the sportie stock bolts pulled it down onto the quarters with ease...
IMO... it makes sportie quarters look more like a roadster, should do the same on your hotrod... sportie - scoop3 015.JPG
