They quit production of Halon 25 years ago, so not realistic!

 

Thanks, neat idea, but I have the money to build the car. I'd rather pay for it all myself.

 

Got the rear end housing machined, and blasted it, and cut off the ends (hopefully in the right place). I bored out the hole in the brackets to fit the 3-1/8" tubes. Got a transmission core taken apart, for mock up use. It's been about 15 years since I was last in a 727, but I remember how they work now.

The milk crate is the perfect height. I can look straight through the transmission, and the hole lines up perfectly with the hole in the rear end housing!

 

Is that using your calibrated eye?

yeah, I suppose. I ordered a few more parts this morning. Been pretty busy with a couple other things lately, too.

Jim, not that you need anything but if you come up short on anything for the Torqueflite, holler. I have some decent connections now.
By the way, I had help from some of my former mentored FIRST Team 1987 students for illustrations in this book (released October 2017). They are truly smart and motivated kids!!
