Just caught up on all the work you've been doing. Sure is turning out nice!

  2. This is all looking real nice and well done. Looks to be a 32 front axle with Henry spindles, what year split wishbone did you use?

Thanks guys, hoping to have it on the road for next season. Yes it's a 32 axle that was dropped 1.5" at some point in its life. The wishbone & spindles are 1940

I have done a few sport coupes and coupesters... when I had one on the table I noticed that the radius around the rear of the cockpit looked close to that of the '30-'31 cowl band... checked, it was very close...
the car's and pick up's cowl bands were stainless, but the 1 ton trucks had painted steel cowl bands... with 2 of them you could weld up a trim bead from B pillar to B pillar, weld a few studs inside for mounting it...
they might make a topless '28-'29 sport coupe a little more roadsteresque... helping fill the upper half of the beltline that is missing on the quarters and tulip.
because the cowl bands fit against the cowl side and tank, then curl inward towards it's front it sort of rolls over the upper quarter... looks good... cheap... fairly easy...

That is such a cool car you have built. Can I ask did you mig or tig the body?

Pretty much everything is TIG welded on the car.
As far as the belt line goes, I welded studs where the nails went originally and then the stock belt line from the leatherback will clip over it. IMG_1946.PNG

This build is going to be awesome. I have severe exhaust envy though.

Enjoying this build! I have been trying to decide what to do with my 29 coupe; you have a lot of great ideas I hope to use on mine. Looking forward to more updates.

Thank you I appreciate it, very happy for a dirty garage paint job it’s not bad, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I decided to paint it myself.

Finally brought the engine to get the machine work done at Camco racing and they did a great job and had it back in 3 days. Got it home and started assembling the pieces I’ve collected for it. A7333D06-8B00-493D-9E44-11FC3FB8FD46.jpeg

A basic rebuild with some upgraded valve train and medium Crower cam for it. Got a good amount of rebuild parts from Centerville Auto in CA. Working on setting push rods here.

Made a plastic “booth” to try and not destroy the garage any further and put some Nason SS down on it. DCDADE4D-BC22-4970-BF5E-5983E26F587B.png

Unwrapped and not looking too shabby

Stabbed it home and now working on getting it together to fire up and break in the cam. A8707279-7099-443F-94EE-701671B1D0DB.jpeg

    She’s alive!
I took a short video but can’t figure out how to make it work on here.
Set it up with just 2 carbs for now to break in the cam etc. It ran for about 20 mins and then started to get scattery. The condenser in the mag crapped out so I’ll try it again once the new one arrives.
It rocks the boat pretty good, should be a fun one to drive!
