Maybe time to either up your standards or get a professional in.
Sorry to sound harsh, but you are potentially playing with fire......

Hey mate if you want to create difficulty by adding components ^^^ is the way to do it.
    OR
Tap a wire off AFTER headlight switch but BEFORE the high / low beam switch
    OR
Tap a wire off the taillight circuit which is switched on by the same switch. Even antiquated old HAMB friendly cars have taillights.

Now , if you use the Taillight circuit option, you can also find another power feed and use another parklight switch [on the dash] and tap that back into the taillight circuit. The headlights would be off so you can still have Fr/Rr parklights

Thanks everyone for your insight. You’ve gotten through.
Kerry , I love your drawing. I do plan to run a parking light circuit and rewire my switch with a separate hi/low beam toggle. PJ.

Boy, talk about making an easy simple job tough. -----power to headlight switch, wire out to tail lights-park lights, wire out to dimmer switch, after dimmer, two wires out to headlights, one, low beam, one, high beam, ground each headlight at the mounting point or somewhere on the car close to headlights.
Don't let the smoke out of the wires, it'll do bad things to your car.
