used to be a group of "old grey hairs" that would tap out the dents and polish to like new, $15 for a '30-'31 headlight bucket... now we are grey and they are gone... and the stainless dings still live on...
I have a nice shiny new one sitting in the corner gathering dust. Put the slightly dinged original back on and it fits like Henry intended.

I have a handful of those "DINGIES" hanging behind an aluminum step ladder... '30-'31 ton trucks had steel cowl bands not stainless... HIH...
my `30 coupe has one that i got from Snyders, it fit fine. as X38 said there can't be a lot of different makes ..maybe i just got lucky
a couple of years ago Snyder's had the same cowl bands as others that do not fit. They went out of there way to find someone new to make them. They now fit. John
I had ordered a cowl band from Snyder's yesterday and they called this morning and they are out of stock. Guess I will work on the old band I have in the garage, if I don't like the result will reorder one later.
http://ahoogaparts.com/ I stopped by this guys place and he supposedly makes them. I wanted one and he was out of stock also. This was a month ago. Looks like he makes good stuff, has a big punch press. Snyder's carries some of his stuff. I would still pick one up and give it a go if he has them.
It has been said before but an original one is the only one that fits. They may take a little work but well worth the trouble.
