...when Gassers were 'correctly built'! Very clean & sanitary. Wonder about the throttle link bolt head in the right side of the Moon pedal...should have been a flat head bolt, non-trapping type. Sole-trap could delay time to get to brake... Only reason I say this is: Back in 1962, my '46 Coupe had a 1:1 671 pump atop Joe Reath's 1958 Chrysler Hemi, triple Vee belt drive...A new pair of Floursheim Imperial Brogue wingtips with my 1/2" ironed cuffs on Levi 501s looked 'scandalishly smart'... I drove the Mean Machine into the local drive-in to hang out, and cool-ly 'cleaned off' the 8.20s as I came in the slick driveway...Traction found, the '46 leaped ahead, my Floursheim jammed into the size-10 Moon was stuck...'PAPP!' It came unstuck, and I found the brake pedal, just in time to bash 2 garbage cans in stopping against the back fence...No harm done, just the 2 garbage cans. I gave the owner $10, and it was O.K. Much laughter, and egg all OVER my face! Somebody said I was gettin' too big for my shoes, but they had it backwards... Looked good, though...
Pretty darn cool! Very clean build. Back when ''Corvette motor'' was actual. I was admiring the pedals. Atwater Mike's post was a good read. Nice looking young ladies. Love the mod slacks and wide tie, too!
I see a transistor radio and a pipe. Willys is beautiful, think your old teacjer is still around, he'd be about 75-80 yrs old. I imagine the school system would be able to locate him, theyre likely sending him a pension check.
Calculators... Seriously that's when I started high school and yeah...no electronic gizmos...Klackers & Caculators that was it...wait transistor radios or walkie talkies but they were huge.

So I see two Ladies dressed in like prom dress's touching their teacher, posing for their prom picture, by a roped off Willys Coupe. Wouldn't fly today would it? Hope it's the mans daughters, he's got his arm around one. Just say'n!
Perhaps you should have a chat over a drink or coffee with him and have him show you some more pics. Perhaps he was with a club or has strip or build pics. I suppose he knows your heart is in the vintage cars correct?
our auto shop teacher had a 56 Chevy 2 door post. just a regular 20 year old car back then. his name was Mr. Wheeler. we always thought that was a cool name for an Auto Shop teacher.
That was a different time. I built gunstocks in wood shop, cleaned and re-blued rifles in metal shop. Great teachers that cared for students. That Willy’s was driven to school on several occasions just to keep us motivated
