I just bought these stainless ones off of Ebay, they require some inner fender trimming, but for less than 150.00 shipped to my door, that is what I am using on my 40 pickup. I build lot's of headers, but not this time, the workmanship is great ! IMG_1270.JPG IMG_1273.JPG IMG_1271.JPG

Look into some designed for an early 60s Corvette. They dump straight down and then straight back. Im using a set on my 32 which has a much narrower frame than a 40 so they should fit your car too.

Those look great, Marty. Just need a bead around the outside at the flange. At that quality and price, I'ma gonna order a set for my '40 coupe!

Vic, I don't think I am going to touch the outside of the flange. The main reason for me going to fenderwell headers, is getting the heat out of the engine compartment, and not fighting clearance around the starter, steering box and 3 speed column shift linkage. Here is the link.

Marty, Good Points made by Vic. I guess thats why they Louver "40" Hoods. I also have a concern with the Steering Box. GM 605 !

Joe, They are 1-5/8 tubes, and the reducers are 2-1/4.

They make many more types than they advertise. Call 'em and ask. I did, and they surprised the heck out of me, and made me a believer.

On the SBC powered 40 Ford pickup I used to have, I used fenderwell headers from a 57 Chevy, similar to what Marty showed earlier in this thread.

Marty, those look like the same ones I bought for my 39. Less than $150, and they look really good.

Ha! I need to remember to look at the dates on posts!
