  14. 1952 PORSCHE "HALLER TAIFUN:" As reported in the 1953 Trend Book "Dream Cars," this was a German built custom sedan with a supercharged Porsche engine. In May, 1952 Popular Science shared the design was by Rudolf Haller - a speedboat and airplane builder.

    This looks like the Paul Weirick #1 car in 1946; probably at Williams Grove? I'm not sure of the driver at all. Could this be Joie Chitwood?

    Looks like Bill Holland to me.

    That Kuzma 81 was some horse. Won with Amick, Bisch, Sutton, Bettenhausen and ended up in Pa as a sprinter.

    These illuminated tires were developed by Goodyear in 1961. They were made from a single piece of synthetic rubber and are brightly lit by bulbs mounted inside the wheel rim. illuminated-tires.jpeg

    The house my wife and I have was built on the west side of Los Angeles (Melrose and Sierra Bonita) in 1930. The family we bought it from bought it at an auction in 1955 and moved it to Boyle Heights on the east side. I'd love to have a picture of the move like the one seen here. Here's the only picture I have of it from the time (only a photocopy):
