I rarely ask for opinions on paint colors.
Coming from someone who partially color blind. :)
But really am at a loss of making a decision on the firewall color. I would normally say semi gloss black on a vehicle with black rims and grille but
the whitewalls on the black rims really throw me. White firewall??
I know how we all like to give our opinion so please be critical.

I like it a lot! But I'd like to see the firewall color carried through elsewhere, to balance the ride.
I prefer to use 1-accent color on all my Builds. With my '49 Chevy, I'm using Burnt Orange on the Block, Wheels, Roof, and Grille Inserts.
What's going on with the interior? Or how about inside the bed sides?

I like it just like it is! The firewall reflects light into under hood area and makes the engine show up well.

The tinted light firewall (what you have pictured) works well and really works well with the wide whites. The cream firewall adds interest and is very subtle.
    Bright white....too generic.
All black....in my opinion with satin black....the dark engine will be lost it will look cheap all black.
The combo you have now in my opinion approaches perfection.

I was thinking with an open engine bay black may be ok. But under the hood maybe too dark.
Maybe a more of a lighter cream color instead of standard cream???

I like the cream firewall so well the F1 will likely get this treatment.
    Thanks for the idea.

  13. Well you and I are in the same boat, I really like Sage but I am not sur what it actually looks like. :D

My got to color is black, but I have a real admiration for a white firewall, or a cream. For me it really doesn't matter what color the rest of the car is. ;)

And the firewall on the 5 window coupe is black.

Heaven forbid you paint it red, this one was purchased at a swap meet and used to set up the engine before I removed and modified it,then shot it the W.W. HRP

Maybe the fact that you are partially color blind prevents you from seeing what the rest of us see, you already have the perfect combination!

  21. You know that is absolutely no help all I know is that the sage colored gray is more pleasing than Blue colored gray. :D

I like it, but IMO it would be better with a lighter shade of cream. There is too large of a difference between the firewall color and the whitewall tires. I like the Wimbledon White in HRP's photo, that's nice. It's still not the same as the tires, but there is less difference.

Decisions made. Glad most of you talked me out of black.
    Going with a French Cream.
Sounds either sexy or palatable. :)
You guy are definitely right about me seeing color combo differently. I gotta get those new Color blind glasses.
Thanks for all the overwhelming compliments.

Thats gives the body more dimension.
    Needs to be goldleaf.
    Do get me started.

  25. the only thing good about black, is it's reflective abilities. i would paint it shiny and change to A color, if it were me.
    nice truck.

Creme and white both look good, just hope you dont get an oil leak spray on it. I really like a polished stainless firewall easier to keep clean.
My firewall is gloss black with satin black inner fenders to make my engine the focal point.

    I like this. ^^^^ .
A "whiter shade of pale" would look good. The firewall is just a little too dark for me.

Rock it as is. It's not necessary to make things match. As in the tire white and firewall white don't have to be the same. Also, those tires will age, get darker at the edge some day. That 'tint' they get over time makes for a more organic look, then the richer color on the firewall just belongs.
