Thanks Denny. I love that he still has the car and it has been restored. The green is not my favorite but it surely has meaning to Ken!

That is one of the oldest shots of Vic's Battery Service I've seen. As a kid in the early 60's I used to go in and buy a piece of steel or iron for my dad from Vic and when I would complain about the cutting fee on his 'automatic" cut-off saw, he would hand me (or anyone that complained) a hack saw with about 1/2 a dozen teeth remaining and said, "have at it" with this! I loved going there as a kid and even later as the core of his business was "scrap metal" so there were old car parts everywhere. Sad to think about how much good stuff was scrapped.

Many thanks to you Rootie. I am going on line to eBay and see if I could buy that same picture as a poster. Oh and did I mention that I love the pictures that you post here. :)

Thanks. I worked at a mfg. company for about 25 yrs. just a few blocks from that location. The restaurant is long gone and this is what the area looks like today. You can just see the top of P.P. above the building.

Like my boss used to say about the stock car racers in our area : " You gotta love stock car racers, I think they'd rather fight than f!!k ".

    Regarding the Austin T coupe.

Great pictures, I have never seen Ken Austin's "T" coupe with a 6 in it. It had a flathead in it when he sold it to Gordon Sully. Al Drake and Al Rogers should be able to identify some of those other cars.Wayne Miller has some good pics taken at Scappose as well. Maybe we can get them scanned andposted. Great history, thanks for posting.

This article claims the current Ken Austin T is an exact replica.
I don't think those radials are era correct though!
