That family is Incredibly talented! I used to call Gary, Rod's father for pointers on my 356 Outlaw build 20 yrs. Ago... Kool stash of History, Thanx...
I'm the farthest thing from a photographer, but there is something about the great old B&W images that seem more real. How can that be? I mean we see in color, but why does B&W seem more realistic?
I would imagine you've heard of Ansel Adams...........if not, put your search fingers in gear...........he had a gift for making B&W almost talk.
Ansel Adams pictures I could look at forever.. so true of his images in B & W... O. Winston Link B & W train photo are just to cool. thanks for sharing this !
What bounced my memory into gear was "Valley Custom Shop" they did the first sectionin g job I had ever seen and it was depicted in HRM, on a shoebox Ford coupe and I thought, and stll think it was about the slickest and sharpest custom I ever saw. Wish I still had that issue, and I may have somewhere in my attic!
Some have wondered whether the Valley Custom '32 5w was ever finished, it was but somehow it flew under the radar. This is it in the early 70s dilapidated but a completed car.
Rod has got his own following as well and is just as talented as his dad and grandfarther. Met him at SEMA this year when he gave a Outlaw badge to a 356 Porsche that a friend of mine built for SEMA . Super cool person very down to earth.
I'm looking forward to meeting Rod this coming Friday at the Porsche Werks Reunion at Amelia. I'll be showing the Dean Jeffries Porsche that Rod's dad Gary has said he saw at an LA auto show in 1961 giving him the inspiration for his "Outlaw" Porsches. Rod will be bringing his latest outlaw and the Gmund coupe he restored for the Pebble Beach Concours. I'll also be on the Amelia Concours field on Sunday - big weekend for me - I'm excited.
