Just too bad that these vintage photos were square, would've been great to see the engine as it looked back then. Whoever took this shot focused more on the occupants than the hot rod itself. If it was one of us taking this same shot, we would have stepped back and got the entire hot rod AND its occupants...

  2. I’m pretty sure he still is!!

True. And there seems to be some double exposure or something going on? I have some pics of the car in it’s first finished form that I will post. Shows the engine pretty well in its stock 4BBled form.

  3. I’ve been trying to decide on some lap belts and found these on eBay the other day. I think they will be perfect! EB8E3EE5-F2C0-495B-A7B0-3B1A0E742CED.jpeg

I've been thinking about the BB a lot lately and this whole thing is just too darn cool. Man I hope to see this little gem in person someday.
This is such a great shot I figured it worthy of another look.

  7. @Countn'Carbs Thanks Dave! I’ll be glad when this shitty weather breaks so I can get the B.B. out again! I plan to have it at the Hill Climb and the HAMB Drags at least this year. I’ll take you for a rip up the hill!!

Yeah, really coming along nicely, I can't wait to see it again in person. Maybe kc,salina,or hillclimb. You've saved it & more; perfect preservation.

  9. Seeing this thing rip at the Hill Climb will be killer!

  10. Not much of an update as I’ve been working on my wood shop while I’ve been waiting on my wheels. @silverdome I ended up going to my regular guy since I’m never on your cousin’s side of town. I should have made the trip as my guy took forever!

Oh well. I got the epoxy primer that they applied scuffed and shot some gloss black on the wheels last night. Hopefully I can get the tires mounted this week!

No matter what the situation is, the wheels will look great with the new rubber. Unless I missed it, did you find the front tires yet to match the style on the BB?

  12. Thanks @31chevymike! I ended up going with these Goodyear supecushions For the front. I think they’ll be perfect!

That definitely goes without saying Mike - they're awesome! The embossing on your tires is something I've never expected to see, oozing with nostalgia...

Just what we all wanted to see! The new shoes looks great Mike! I bet it's very difficult to find those hubcaps now - the chrome reverse look with the bullet center cap is period perfect! Possibly JC Whitney at the time?

I used to carry a pipe wrench with me in the Roadster. Not for protection, but a night, when I would go out of town West on a road we used for “grudge” races, I would unscrew the plugs on the headers when I raced. I used to love to see the fire come out of them!

These look great Mike. Are you going to run caps, or not?
