Around here yellow and orange were common for a while too, especially orange.

    Hello,
That car reminds me of Mike Marinoff's 55 Chevy Bel Air. That car was impressive in the pits and racing.

This thread needed a bump so I'll ask a question here that has been bugging me.
I've been called a know-it-all (more than once) but I have never seen a 57 Chevy 210 Sport Coupe with trim like this, only in this literature have I ever seen one with the single quarter panel trim.
Is this a preproduction photo of trim that never got past the GM design review board?
    A what-if carryover from the 56?

This Hemmings article is the only time I've ever seen this mentioned, no explanation though.
Available in four-door sedan and hardtop variants, the 210 series was also constructed in two-door sedan, hardtop and Del Rey configurations (and three wagon models). 210s also exhibited a 200-inch-long body from bumper to bumper, and shared their overall design elements with the 150s, with the exception of the side trim. No matter the body style, the side trim on a 210 mirrored that of the Bel Air, except that instead of silver-anodized aluminum inserted between the two horizontal trim pieces on the quarters, body color or contrasting paint filled the void if two-tone paint was selected; the roof bore the same color. What's interesting is that factory literature showed a single piece of side trim that swept down to the rear bumper.

This is the only trim I've ever seen, same as the BelAir, but lacking the insert.

  15. Denny, I suspect those brochures were printed before the final production decision was made.

As you point out, my Dad's two-tone 210 two-door sedan had the quarter panels painted the same color as the roof.

I remember, as a kid, thinking it looked just like the Batmobile.

Neat 55, and those window decals really give it a personality rarely seen on street cars .
Don't take this the wrong way but your car deserves the old style Hurst shifter ball.
I know they are at least $25  as I've bought two to replace those new versions on the last two new shifters I've purchased.
Curious, are those NMW traction bars, don't see them much anymore.
