I have a '51 Chevy, with an open drive line conversion. Still a 235 6 cylinder, later model 3 speed stick, with a Ford 9". Question came up as to which throw out bearing is in the car ..... a long or a short bearing. What determines which throw out bearing (long or short) will be used ? Thanks !
the type of clutch. The diaphragm pressure plate uses the long bearing, the finger pressure plate uses the short one. Most new clutch sets these days include the appropriate bearing.
