Projects Dodge This - 1939 Dodge Southeast Gasser Build

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Dog_Patch, Aug 12, 2014.

  1. Had a fun time yesterday running all over North and South Carolina. @Cabbage had a trans at Quain's to pick up and @Tudor bought Boogieman's Jerico so off we went.

This Moonshiner car is still for sale - turn key $26k IMG_7693[1].JPG

Wild Turkeys - never saw so many

    IMG_0668.JPG

Then we ran over to Boogie's shop - walked in and saw Billie the pinstriper and we ignored Boogieman - pretty much - after that. Girl is talented.

Then it was back to Gerogia to work on Josh's 393 Hemi - he says its bigger than 392

You need to come visit Nebraska, we have tons of Wild Turkeys around here.
Get some full length headers on that Hemi, those things cost a bunch or HP & TQ!

  3. It's going to have a blower so we will have plenty on tap!! :)

  10. My apologies, I thought you were referring to my previous comment calling it hay seed thinking. Maybe I should ask for clarification on the second part before I assume your point there as well.

Just my thinking that a blower engine would like some free flowing exhaust like zoomie headers.
But that was me thinking this is a race engine. Just thinking out load maybe I should crawl back under my rock. :D

That Corvette qualifies as cool in my book! And I am not a Vette guy, at all.

  19. That one is badass! I had to run that Silver Streak Vette all year because I usually had the worst qualifying time and he usually had the best. Some of them are cool and fast to boot.

This getting old thing sure has it's drawbacks. I bet the old race car guys have some serious bench racing sessions up there. Sonee will be in some good company.

  29. He's from Bristol - said you can hear the fuel cars from his house there.
He used to walk up to me in the staging lanes before we ran and ask if I still had a mag - cause he had a pacemaker o_O

Yeah the Chicken Picker passed away about a month ago also.

  30. Not sure where Tim's build thread went - here's a few shots from Saturday working on his 55

Getting farther on my 467 stroker - oil primed now - pushrods in tonight and valve lash set. I had to put 9 quarts in this pan to get to the line on the dipstick!
