  1. Back in the early 70's I wanted to paint my Model A pickup Yellow but after driving it it red primer a number of years I decided to sell it and build a 40 Ford sedan where we could take the twins with us when we traveled so I painted the truck resale red.

  4. Yellow is my second favorite color. The world just looks so bright and springtime like when driving a yellow car, having it reflect off the hood. This is my 56 Chebby. I had painted my 65 Vette a brighter yellow than this many years back but it was so bright that it was blinding so I repainted it red.

    Changed to wire wheels.JPG
edit: I just placed this car in the classifieds if anyone is interested.

Piggy backing Jalopy Jokers post, here's a few more of mine. '54 Buick Condor Yellow. (But it's a PITA to photograph, photos never really capture how chartreuse it is).

I guess I needed to tell people it was a 57 Chevy, I put a station wagon rear bumper on it and had to cover up the holes in the trunk lid.

PeteJoe. Great to see the 2004 NSRA giveaway car I built. The last I knew it was in Germany.

Was a fabulous build! You and I talked that day in 2004. Also at the Hot rod reunion at National Trail. You drove your pickup.
Germany!! wow. Didn't know that. Wonder if it still has Norm Grabowski's signature on the dash?

I've never been a fan of yellow, but not to say there are some that make the grade. But I would bet a majority that have there ride yellow get tired of it and change it eventually. Could be wrong.

Back in the mid 60s I was building my first dirt track stock car fom a 55 Chevy after many years involved with other people's cars with no choices of my own on anything.
Hadn't decided on what color, but had started looking hard at different colors of cars already running to see which ones seemed to show wrinkles from previous bang ups that had been hammered out and painted again. The 3 colors that seemed to show the least waves and ripples after hammering out and touching up paint were white, yellow and orange. There were already a lot of white cars, so that narrowed it down to yellow and orange.
One of the guys helping me build the car came up with a gallon of Sherwin Williams Industrial "Safety Orange", and from that day forward I built orange race cars.

  27. I would not take that bet. The thing about yellow that I have found is that most people either love it or hate it, not too many undecideds. My 56 Chevy previously posted has been yellow close to 20 years.

Built 3 Wheatland Yellow deuces in the late 70's to mid 80's. Got accused of buying the paint in barrels. I'm currently starting on a deuce lakester that will also be Wheatland Yellow.
