So here is a dilemma I have been wrestling with that I need to get right now before installation. Do I leave the dash with the center painted to match the firewall or wood grain the insert area to match my steering wheel and shift knob? That crème color is not present anywhere else in the interior or exterior of the car other than under the hood and may look out of place

I know I have to make the final choice and stare at it every second I'm driving the car but interested to hear your opinions. The dash is sitting on the leather hides that will cover the seat and panels. The swatches are the convertible top color. Evidently at the time of the photo my pool table is doing 100 MPH, I knew it rolls out fast, now I have proof.

 

I like the cream color myself, but you may have a point with it being hidden under the hood.
The top is a similar color.
I think it will work fine.
I'm not a huge fan of wood grain.

 

I think the wood grain would be lost in the maroon color, plus it's kind of resto roddish. I like the crème color on the dash. I think it looks great plus it ties in with the engine compartment. If it were my car, I would leave it crème. It also really makes the dash insert pop.

 

Some tastefully done pinstripes in maroon and that's it

 

I ran out of room on the T'bird hood to use as a workbench, and took over the laundry room. Kim didn't complain about that, but she didn't much care for the smell of Prep-Sol in the house.

I vote for the cream, looks real nice

 

I would paint entire dash burgandy and do pin striping in cream.

 

This worries me, it is the same thing my wife said.

That was the original idea, some cool lines

 

Well..... you don't live with me, but the wife.......... you make the choice.

 

Keep the cream on the dash that is a nice color combo! What if you use cream escutcheons on your door handles and cream binding on your carpeting to tie it all together....killer build!

I agree with the pinstriping and not overdone!

 

Another idea may be a small black stripe where the burgundy and cream meet along with small amount of burgundy pin striping as desired.

 

Have" Themoose" photo shop it for you.

 

You're doing a phenomenal job so far on this car.
Who ever has been advising you along the way has been spot on so far and Continuing to listen to them would probably be a good idea.
So if that's your wife, then she's been on it.
If that's been ultimately you then you've been on it.

Personally I've never liked brown that's in any of the poop shades.
Dark rich coffee browns or coffee with cream tones.
Rich coffee brown with cream stitches looks really nice in some places. It's a slight deviatiation from very classy Black and Tan.

 

I've been designing and building this car for years. My wife just reminds me "occasionally" to stay the course on not deviate. Although she wanted the car painted black...which is why I ran the "(s)election thread in 2016.

I don't like poop, try to avoid it in fact. Occasionally I step in it but I try to blame it on others.

 

Don't kick me out of the garage just yet but how about covering it with leather? Ok it was just a fart brain idea .

 

I never kick anyone out of the garage until the cooler they brung is empty.

BTW this is mine covered in black leather from some Chiquita's skirt really soft. NOO the leather!!

Pin stripe it. I would like to see the Moose do a couple of wood grain samples though.

Man. That wood adds a bit of extra class to an already classy build.

 

Originally I thought I preferred the cream BUT that color woodgrain does complement the leather colors and looks CLASSY!

The cluster also looks better against it.

 

But you know what they say about opinions....
