  1. thanks fly.......

  2. well, I hate doors.......I knew when the doors weren't on the body, it would probably be challenging. I'm also using hinges I bought from ebay that came off of a 33-34 5w coupe, not the odd assortment that came with the car. You know the drill, the holes don't line up, different hole pattern plus other anomalies. I will say I'm grateful , I have a '33 5w coupe with doors and original hinges, PLUS, I have talented friends who are patient and who are excellent with doors.
I'm going to work at it a little while longer before I call in the reinforcements.

  3. well, for those of you that have put on doors you'll understand ....this is a weeks work plus my buddy came by to help me . He is real patient and real good with doors. Still need to get the middle hinges in place plus do some shimming. There not perfect but I'm happy with them. I can do some lead work to make the moldings match up.

  4. well, it took quite some time to get the middle hinges to fit correctly and installed. I finally finished them up today.
I still have more work to do on the driver's door to make it fit better in the opening.

  9. straightened out the firewall and she's tacked into place. Before I continue, gonna put the body on the frame to make sure it fits correctly.

  10. Hey buddy. Like the idea on the firewall. Theres a new guy, young gun, on the hamb that just bought a 33 coupe. I told him to look you up. He has lots to do on one of his doors. His name is Spencer Caldwell. We need to encourage these youguns

You may regret 5 inches. These cars are very small inside. 4" is extreme but better than 5 1/2. Be sure to save what you cut out so that the next owner can repair it

  17. I always save everything ''many". I'm 5'8'', I'll have plenty of room. I'm leaving the car to my daughter, she's 5'7'' 125 lbs...........I appreciate the concern.

  18. well, it was a partial successful attempt , but no cigar. The body would go all the way down on the frame rails. A previous owner welded a plate on the underside of the rocker panels, the plate is too wide. I just have to trim of some material and she should fit great.....
I also started cutting out the z'ed rear floor section.
