I dug the headlight stands out and it looks like I will need to channel the mount up 2” or so to get them sitting better. Either that or find shorter mounts. I need to put a block inside the frame so there is some meat to drill and tap before I box the frame rails. I have cage nuts for the body mounts C3573559-5766-48AA-9514-D55F0912BC43.jpeg FBAC435E-15A1-478A-BFE8-B635DE31EE03.jpeg 01518934-EED7-46DB-AA62-FD345BE76036.jpeg

  7. Keep going man it’s looking Great! I just bought a 31 cowl to start pounding out an RPU when I’m done with my 37 Plymouth build. I will be referring to your build a lot during mine so you have to keep going!

I am still torn. Black or body color for the frame? Wheels will be black as will all of the suspension and brakes.

I would ask Moose, over on the photoshop thread, to show it both ways so you can decide which way to go! My first thought is to go with a black frame, but seeing both ways may change my mind.

Thanks to Themoose on the photoshop thread. Red frame, or black frame? Suspension parts will be black as will the windshield. Powder coated black wheels was also the original plan but that can change. And if it goes red frame would you go with the darker leather? Why does this have to be so hard? 49F80F31-0FEC-4CEB-BF1B-0013562D7CE2.jpeg 148F51F8-4AC9-4CD8-A84A-4FCBE1E92C11.jpeg 739116F1-0478-4F23-B5E1-7E545E8119EE.jpeg

Neat heater cover. I know it don't matter, but I'd go with the body color on the frame. That looked slick. Keep up the good work. Must be tough to build a car to your liking, then give it away. There is something in you, that is not in most of us. My hat is off to you.

  19. My knee jerk answer to the question was black Frame. Both look really good but black Frame always says hot rod to me more than a body color frame for some reason?

I prefer frame be body color.

And lighter leather color regardless of what color you paint the frame.

    But what do I know?

  21. I would go light leather and black frame but I can’t wait to see the finished product.

  22. Like Cactus1 says, black frame looks more like a traditional hotrod to me. If it were mine I would go with that.

My vote was for the black frame (that is if I get a vote), until I saw the second to last picture of a body colored frame, white pinstriping, and a white tonneau cover. I am sick, I like white.

Heck, I'd paint the suspension, motor, and everything else white.

Yep, going off the deep end again.

  25. This changed my mind too- I think, this looks most “done”, so white pin striped body colored frame with white wall tires is my vote.

The new picture with the white pinstriping looks like it flew off the cover of Rod and Custom, no going back now!

  28. If you do the whitewalls and pinstripes then I say white chassis all the way!!!

A quick scribble edit in the cellphone. Makes it a bit more aggressive than the pinstripes DD88A012-D138-4C4B-9167-663D32B6947F.jpeg

FB1F5F6B-94A6-4B5A-88DB-850E408B1F17.jpeg A quick mask and spray and I am digging this idea more. Maybe cream/vanilla instead of black but the black seems more aggressive.
