20171107_165137[1].jpg 20171107_165152[1].jpg 20171107_165227[1].jpg 20171107_165245[1].jpg 20171107_165137[1].jpg 20171107_165120[1].jpg Well it's not that I needed another project, good thing I also have an understanding wife, When I decided to go look down deep I probley knew it would come home with me as 20171107_165120[1].jpg long as we were both happy about the price. He told me he purchased the car 28 years ago drove it to the old round top building, let his wife drive it and his son briefly, then just plane sat. At one point they thought about putting in a 350 chevy, sure glad they didn't. Anyway they removed the hood, side curtains, radiator, front motor mounts and that is how she sat. Someone got in and stole the radiator and broke the tail light housing and 1 headlight.Atleast they left the hood and sidecurtains. I noticed someone removed the brake resivor (not original) they cut a hole in the firewall,I show a photo of it and mabey you guys can give me some advice on what to do with it. They had juice on the front and looks like orig on back. I'm sure I'll be looking for some parts to squirrel away for a later date. This is great therapy!! later

That looks in remarkably good shape; I can see how you couldn't resist it. I probably need it even less than you and I would have been tempted if the price was anywhere close to reasonable. Good purchase!

This is what mine started out like. V8-60 (but it had a beam axle) that was SO slow. It had no cancer and was not missing one bolt. One cigarette burn in the headliner. Ran ok, the mech brakes sucked. A true survivor. Ended up with a Ford 302 / C-4 / 9" - 3.00 / MII / FWDB, ACH Defrost, etc, etc. Gary

That looks like a really nice clean car. I'm not real big on 4 doors but I would have no problem driving that one.

Put the hydraulic brakes all around, a couple carbs on that flathead, maybe a reverse eye spring, I could see that.

I don't see a right side tail light so you must have a Standard. And a Standard has only one wiper and one sun visor. I remedied that on mine and also found a pair of rear quarter windows that flip open. Must have been a deluxe thing.

  15. Love the car! People who don't like 4 doors just make them more affordable for those of us who do. The only good thing about mechanical brakes is that the parking brake holds on all 4 wheels. Definitely change to hydraulics, keep your drums ('39 with hydraulic brakes uses the same drums) and keep the wide 5s. 4 doors are great if you have kids, grandkids, or friends.

  17. If it were mine I'd make a 2 dr. out of it. Lengthen front doors move pillar back use rear door panel to make quarter panel cut out small window opening to make one longer quarter glass .It's a lot easier if you have the longer 2dr.sdn. doors.

  18. Congrats!
Do the minimal you have to to have it running and driving safely.
    Clean up, do the interior..
Hard to find anything that un messed with nowadays.
    Just my opinion

Great looking car. Appears to be in excellent shape. Upgrade brakes, repower it and enjoy it.

Thanks for all the positives guys, progress is a little slow, pulled the intake off and it looks really good no sludge. I would like to hear more about what it would take to put flip out windows in the rear. I haven't found any quarter seals for it. I do have a pair of seals for flip outs. What would it all take to change it to flip outs?

It's a little slow partly because I'm also restoring a Cushman eagle with my 10 yr. old grandson.

Well that should take precedent over whatever you've got going! I missed out on an identical 37 about a year ago.An older gentleman had a complete 37 for $2400...as nice as yours or better .Could not convince my associate how much I needed it!
