How about this version? Almost stock height windshield but adding a bunch of extra slope to the rear which they have a bit of from the factory. Also lowered a bunch in front, extended fins and a more swept back rear wheel opening. I didn't even turn this into a 2 door first, which is usually my signature move but on this car it kinda works.

I've always liked these Ramblers, very overlooked as customs but they have a bit of attitude that I think the right cuts could really bring out.

The '57-59 Rambler is arguably the first muscle car: "compact" body with a V8. Styling-wise there was lots of room inside. Outside, it look like a flashy taxi cab.
I thought it might be interesting to look at a progression of ideas to "sleek it up.":
    1 Stock
    2 Lowered
    2a Lowered and Chopped
    3 Sectioned, Stock Roof
    4 Sectioned, Chopped Roof

I had thought about doing a two-door convertible similar to this (nothing stopping me except a lack of talent...). The Dagmars don't work for me, but neither does the stock grille/bumper set.

Jeff J's wife recently purchased this '48 Studebaker Commander convertible to replace her wrecked '32 3-window. She was thinking of the 2003 Tahoe dark green metallic with candy green flames from the hood down to the back of the doors.

It was suggested that Jeff J approach the good folks on this thread for some help. I thought I'd do some of the leg work for him!

If it isn't too dark, maybe the restored car would be a good starting point.

So, how would you turn this ride into a traditional Kustom, including his wife's paint ideas? Maybe some Watson-esque seaweed flames as an option? What color top? I'd love to give him a couple of versions to show her.

    Thanks in advance![IMG][IMG]

While not for everyone if nothing else it's a pretty interesting concept..Looks like a cross between something Ed Roth and George Barris might have come up with.

Looks like it needs 3" to 4" off the top to complete the transformation! It certainly is an interesting concept.

  21. I'm building a '56 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan. It will be mostly gloss black, as in the one photo. I'd really appreciate it if someone could put some flames on it, under the stainless trim, like the one on the '57 in the other photo, but fogged from dark metallic purple to cobalt blue instead of the red/orange. Thanks in advance to anyone who'd like to help me out. I tried it with a copy of the '56 pic and colored pencils, but just couldn't get a good idea of what the finished product would look like. black 56 clubsedanprofile.jpg 57cc69fe5aacf2abf1f14538bdb0eb94.jpg

  23. Moose, you're a frickin' genius! I seriously appreciate your time and effort. I could see it in my head, and am capable of doing the prep, masking, and painting, but am not capable of creating an illustration of what I see In my head in order to show others what I'm thinking. Thank you so much! I always look forward to seeing your new work on the FAS.

  24. @Animal ...Thanks for the complement Animal and your very welcome. As I've said before I really enjoy helping people realize their visions plus it's a lot of fun to play around with Photoshop.

Thanks to everyone here for sharing your talents so generously,

Is there anyone who would care to Paint this one?
The proposed colors are dark green metallic (original), with charcoal grey for the top (belt line up).
Also, lowering a tad (especially the rear), and Sombrero wheel covers would be the cheese!

Can someone please photoshop this with the red as the body color and then the frame as body color versus gloss black. The wheels will be gloss black 40 Ford with chrome caps and rings. Windshield and posts will be black as well. I posted several views do the one of your choosing. This is the car in the pounding out a T roadster thread. 30388A45-BE20-4E82-8088-863039051290.jpeg 5D2B4121-95EB-42F5-9F40-755116F29FD9.jpeg 543E9EDE-E5E4-47DC-8E24-BB0068074B28.jpeg FD08F026-11E2-4FC0-A560-2A37776E390B.jpeg
