I'll take some close ups for you, pretty simple to make.

Is there another panel under the top louvers to deal with the water that goes into the louvers? Or is it a sunny day car? If another panel please explain how it works. You are doing an amazing job on the car.

This is one of my favorite photos of the build, first photo of the Fordor, then the Coupe find with the old shovel A pillar, now the louvers. You'll bleed sanding them, but it is always worth it. Happy New Year! :)Bob

  7. Son'ofa'b#tch. The lengths people go. Incredibly tidy work, on what was surely a damned mess. Wowsers.

I also made a similar template tool. Agreed, very easy to make and use it more often than you’d think.

    I made mine out of:
    (2) 6’ aluminum rules (straightedges)
Several lengths of 1” aluminum flat stock and milled the long adjusting slot in them.
Aluminum angles (cut and welded to bottom straightedge)
Install wingnuts on the top adjustable carriage bolts for easy adjusting. (Square holes for carriage bolts to make it a one handed adjustment when needed)

A lot of guys do a panel underneath, I don't like the way they look so mine won't have one. Plus I live in Utah and it hardly rains. Having a panel under it seems like it would create some problems with water being trapped between the two. If I want it to be water tight I will just end up making another roof insert with no louvers. Also thanks for your support!

This side really wanted to fight me. Worked through it though.

Cut a wedge to take out crown so it matches the other side. There was damage to this side so it needed to be readjusted. This wedge was brought together then tacked.

Both roof sections grafted together and tacked. Starting to look like a 5 window!

You can see how off the quarter window is. This allows me to find the best place to cut that will match up the best.

Was able to do a little more work on the Bonneville Bastard this week. First drilled out spot weld to take almost the entire A pillar out. ( only the outer structure) this way I can work on the pillar and make any adjustments while it’s off the car. It makes it easier to do so. Also paid the price for not wearing eye Protection for the slightest moment, spent the night getting metal shards drilled out of my cornea at the hospital. It all comes with the territory.

Chop all layed out! I was so excited to finally get to cut the top off again after spending months putting it on.

Layed the top back on to get a general look. Still need to lean the pillars.

She is looking pretty good. Still need to make some minor adjustments to get it looking just how I want it. Thanks for looking!
