Sam-got my vote as well.

 

I'm still looking forward to seeing this one all together. I can't remember if you told us what your wheel/tire combo is gonna be on it.

 

I threw in a vote when ya posted it the other day, Sam. Hope ya win!

 

Yeah, I was never real crazy about the shaved decklid, but it's what Doug liked. The wheels were popular (and affordable) back when he bought them, but they were 14's up front and 15's out back. A set of 15x5 and 15x7 American Torq Thrust Originals would look killer on it today.

 

My old Forty coupe. Had to sell it when wife got cancer. Sold it at the Nationals in Louisville about 20 years ago. Yes if you look close you can see where I cut the picture and slammed it myself by taping it that way. Sold it as soon as I got it running.

 

My old 40 panel truck. Was sold out from under me, by a friend who was storing it for me.

The rear is 245/60R18 and the front is 225/50R17/. The wheels are from Chip Foose and are painted black .

Doug, attempting to get the front sheet metal lined up on his truck, and my stake truck awaiting the final engine swap.

 

Final? Yeah! I bet! Wait till you see the unusual 40 swap I'll post on FB today. You will be lusting to do one, as soon as you read it!

 

I said final, as this time it is a fresh 350 that just came from the engine builder's break-in stand. After dropping in the 283, 350, back to the 283, and now back to the fresh 350, I'm thinking that this game of musical motors will be done for a while.

 

I have the glass in, mounted the fuse panel under the seat (no connections yet) and started installing the fenders. The goal is to have it on the road in May or June

A few from GNRS. A little stretch with the '39 Mercs, but they were just too nice to not include.

 

Saw this pic taken at the GNRS. You don't see many 40 Fords with a sun visor...

 

...........................or skirts for that matter.

 

So would we say this is an early post WW2 (replica) custom? Nice coupe!
