    Hello,

In 1965-66, drag racing days were over and other things were taking place in this long timeline. But, I wanted to see if my red, 1965 El Camino would look interesting and be fast if I put on some drag racing goodies.
upload_2018-2-2_4-25-15.png 5 spoke American Mags were the first choice, but college costs took precedence over the mags. So, between cramming study sessions, I broke out my drawing art book that I brought along with me as a part of my old Long Beach neighborhood. Something from home makes the transition easier to new surroundings.

The 65 El Camino should have run in A/Gas, but I labeled it A/FX to be in the same experimental class just starting that was gaining factory backing and popularity. The motor was a new 396 big block that was in regular size Chevy sedans, but not in the El Caminos. No, the up in the air stance is not permanent, only when accelerating off of the line in a race.

After seeing that powerful, 1959 El Camino rip up the opposition at Lions back in 1959-60, I wondered if my built-up, pretend, 65 El Camino race car could do the same.

But, what I modified and came up with recently was a twin turbocharged technology that the Mallicoat Bros. began in 1964. (Installed in the 65 El Camino with a normal street, California Rake. This is the standard stance if the air shocks have some air in them.) No need for extensive mods to go fast. The side exhaust cut outs to route the gasses back to the muffler and tailpipe. A true street sleeper.
