Somebody on one of my Facebook groups has this head and wants too know what it is. It looks B.O.P. or Caddy to me and says Edmunds right on it. It looks to be aluminum also.

With the angle of the intake ports it could be Buick nailhead.

It's Cadillac. He also made finned cast headers and complete engine packages for the 331. Eddie wanted to supply parts to expensive car owners more than the rodders.

The angle of the intake ports doesn't look sharp enough to be Nailhead too me.

  11. I Think that's a winner

  12. The nailhead intake port configuration is 1-2-1
The center ports are paired with the ends single.
    Your head is 2-2 configuration

Damn that's cool, I was unaware that Edmunds made any OHV aluminum heads.

I wonder how valve covers were bolted on since Cadillac had four bolt holes on the perimeter

Since he was making his own valve covers to go with the head. I guess he could bolt it on any way he pleased.

Actually, for the first 3 months of '49 331 production, Cadillac heads were two bolt in center of valve cover instead of 4 perimeter bolts. I did not know this until I did a quick internet search. '49 cadillac early valve covers.JPG

  17. The early ones have 2 center bolts

Would love to find a set of those for one of my caddy motors. What kind of money are a set of those bringing?

I'll go with Cadillac Head bolt pattern does not match Olds or Studabaker. ports are not the same as Buick
