Event Coverage Storage Locker Score

Got a call yesterday to clean out a storage locker, free stuff. Most of the manuals are early '80s but there are many '50s-'60s. The car dollys are super heavy duty. Nice electric hoist. Any advantage to the large battery charger over the smaller bench top ones? Is there any market for the '80s manuals?

My neighbor has one of those big ole' roll-around chargers and it will easily start a car with a dead battery, so yeah, they do have an advantage over the little ones. Also, the manuals usually go back 7-10 years, so they're quite useful. All in All, looks to be a good score.

And here, I thought those TV shows were fake!

Thanks guys. Ha, I don't know about the smell, got 'em outside, but last night in bed I started swatting at something in my hair, too tired to care. Little while later my wife screams, huge spider crawling on her.

These '80s manuals gotta go, no place to keep them. How much should I ask on CL? The battery charger has a 'dead battery' toggle switch, any idea what that does?

 

It is probably polarity protected so if it doesn't read the proper polarity it won't charge so it won't charge a dead battery either. The switch bypasses that.

i always thought i needed one of those big chargers...until i got one. big thing taking up too much space, dragging it around to where its needed takes some skill, over the air hose, nick the fender, twist the bike fork out of the way etc. i now prefer to have good batteries, and just carry a small charger to the job if needed. some will buy it though, nice score!

 

Those big battery chargers are great to use on reverse electrolist rust removal. And the will charge a battery fast, Give the manuals to a local libary they can put up for sale in their next fund raiser. They will give you a tax write off form. I purchased several years ago from one of those sales along with some 45 records.

 

I'd throw 'em on Ebay with a 'buy it now' price of $6.99 each. You'd probably sell a few.

 

The advantage to a larger charger is they have a 200 or 250 amp jump start feature, where the small trickle chargers don't. Also the GoJacks are a nice find, good luck with the manuals....some one gave me some Hollander manuals for the early 90's and I couldn't give them away (even a used book store wouldn't take all of them).
