rack and pinion identifier

    need this rack identified off of a 1949 Hudson. Any help appreciated.[​IMG]

  2. Some better pics and more info would help. Like what suspension, measurements that kind of stuff

    At first glance it's similar to dodge omni, at least the mounting any way. and quite popular in our hobby

    You would get better response on the main board

    74-78 mustang check weather hose fittings are flare or o-ring, flare is the earlier ones

    I may b wrong on that last comment Im sure the m2 rack has a solid p/side mount but someone could have machined it off

    After a little more research found this part 8011820-01 from Summit or Jegs. I want to know if the tie rods are serviceable or what the rack possibly came off of. This pic shows a Malibu rack beside it. almost a match. tie rods are too long.[​IMG]

  6. No way that's mustang rack . It's backwards and the mounts are wrong.

    Yes tie rods are changeable.
    Moog probably has no less than 50 different tie rods that will go on that rack out of 1200 or so part numbers.

  9. You can match up the tie rods by size in the moog book.
    Application is irrelevant then
