  6. Bet that little Fiat 500 or 600 on the left would love to dive in an out between all those big cars. Just like they do in Italy:eek:. The Renault Dauphine would be pretty nippy too.

This being so close to 'before my time' I can't imagine why the Empress/Princess berthed so close to Spotswood, not way over at Station Pier - early RO/RO facilities or because sea-travel was still a thing, and containers weren't?

Rootie, do you have any information on the other big car photo; the one where driver appears to be warming up without his goggles in place?

    Thanks.

No I don't. I was curious myself so I googled up Van Brunt St. to get an idea of where the car might be out of. All the hits came up as in the NYC-NJ area so it may be a URC car but I didn't have any joy coming up with any more info.

Wow what a fine bunch of Porterville shots. The three guys standing in front of the International pickup, are
Gordon todd, Ted Faggart, of (drag boat fame), also later had a Buick Dealership, and Calvin Todd. I worked
with Calvin for years in the phone company. One of my best all time friends. Calvin was electrocuted at work
in 1981, sure miss the guy.

Rootie, wouldn't be a URC car as they did not allow offies until mid 60's.

This showed up in my families private Facebook page. My uncle scans all of the family photos and posts them for us to see.

That was just on our local news tonight.
Seems "Rosie the Riveter" lived just up the interstate in Longview Washington.
