I havent built a model since my childhood days, about 37 years ago so with the winter months here and my anxiety and depression hitting me pretty hard, I decided to give it a try and get back into it and see if I still have what it takes to build some custom models to pass some time away and to help me with my issues. Here is my first one since then. Its a 57 chevy nomad gasser with some added on rot and rust issues for customization. Let me here your thoughts and what you think. Im currently starting on a 32 ford coupe with a stretched frame and chopped roof which I will post either when im done or maybe as I go, what you you guys like to see? The progress or finished product? I'm preeeetty sure thats a '57 ford wagon. I started doing a few with no paint at all with my 7 y.o. son, after hanging up my x-acto for about 10 years. Its fun to go back to basics.
Looks great! Just wondering what you were going for? Abandoned gasser? Just found and ready to race? Either way the nice chrome on the grill, moon tank, and wheels, needs to be rusted up a bit to stay with the theme of the rest of it. Glad to hear you have found something to help you! Not criticizing you by the way, just some suggestions.
Good Lord, this F---ing Rat Rod thing is totally out of control! I think your Med's eight your Brain! That's a Ford son, a rotten old Ford. I can't wait to see what your calling a 32 Ford. The Wizzard
Amazing work, you made it look like a rust bucket! And a nod to your skills, you turned a '57 Chevy Nomad into a '57 Ford Del Reo Wagon! HRP
"So, the wagons been sitting in a box, on a shelf in the closet for the past 37 years. Dug it out from under some dirty underwear and socks..." The `57 Ford Wagon Gasser closet find story begins! Seriously though, Cool model, some awesome skills you have there!
I changed the title RIGHT AFTER I posted it because I did notice I put chevy, but should be changed by now, it says ford in the title
Got ya. I was just reading the post where it said Chevy and thought I'd have some fun with it. Hope you took what I said as humor. The Wizzard
Hey, nice job man! Just keep doing whatever you need to do to feel better. Many of us have been there!
Thanks for the replies everyone, kinda feel like a kid again, lol. Maybe I should post a build of the stretched frame, chopped top 32 ford thats to come, at least I have all the parts and money to finish the build, lol.
If this is your therapy and it's working, don't stop now. This car, no matter what you call it, is well done. There is a modeler's group on here, check em out!
The modelers group in gone, but we have the Sunday Model thread. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/sunday-models.869868/
