I'm sure I'm missing some photos in here, but the cage is in besides the door bars and bar behind the seat, rear suspension is getting close to being done. Probably going to get the pedal assembly done next so I can get the steering box mounted along with getting the steering column mounted in the car. I started a page on Facebook for the car also that if you want to follow along on there you can, search for 1931 Ford Model A coupe the main stage southeast gassers or you can find it by putting in @themainstageseg

Thank goodness someone is building something cool again! It was starting to get boring around here! A full fender A gasser is a breath of fresh air from everyone chopping, channeling and slamming them into the dirt. Larry

Your "A" looks great! Very close to the ones in the mid '64 copies of Eastern Drag News I have! Love it!

I really like the direction your car is headed. My rear suspension will be similar to yours on my Morris. Trying to load some some photos to my dropbox , but Sprint is fighting me.
    Cool build.

Thank you guys for the support and feedback, helps keep the motivation of building this car with this crappy cold snowy weather we have coming down.

Great job, can't wait to have you racing with the Southeast gasser family. Please let me know if you need anything.

can you post any more pics of what appears to be jack bolts on the coil springs? Been thinking about this for a while for my car, but can't decide how necessary they are. Any input would be welcome.

Sorry this isn't a very good picture but it is a jack bolt that I went through the tubing with and then welded a bung on the bottom side of the frame that goes into the spring pocket to adjust the load. I'm not really sure if I will need them or not just wanted to have them there just in case. Sorry I'm not much help for input but that's how we did it on this frame.

Started cutting into the old gas tank/gauge panel area to loose some weight. I'm just going to make a panel out of aluminum probably to go into that area with the temp and oil gauges to make a nice clean easy look.

Then started working on getting the door bars made to fit for the cage.

Was doing a little practicing on tig welding to on some scrap metal laying around also but I tell ya, that's one thing that takes time to make look decent and actually functional. I have to give credit to Jeff (strokedstang331) for the welds that are currently in my car as I cannot take credit for those compared to my welds.

  20. Glad to see you making progress keep picking away at it and soon enough you will be sorting out the new car bugs and tearing up the track.

  21. Not to much for an update on the Skairlane but I got my new transmission about a month and a half ago. The car is still in storage going to have to dig it out real soon to get it ready for the first race in April. Also found a few good shots from 2017 I saved. Make your plans now the 2018 season will be a good one see pics for the schedule.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  22. Also the best thing that has ever happened in my life my son was born 12/29/17 only weighed 4pounds 11 ounces and was 18.5" long. Puts a entirely new perspective on life that's for sure. He was a month early and had to spend 21days in the NICU but he is doing well now. We had his newborn pictures done rite after we took him home thought I would share them as well.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Congrates on the new hot rodder Jeff. Keep those pictures handy so when he becomes a teenager and starts acting like a teenager, you tell him you will have his momma start showing them to his friends and start telling them how cute and adorable he was! lol That will straighten him out :)! Good luck this season . I will be cheering you on! Larry

My first spent 21 days in NICU as well. Hardest 21 days of my life. Congrats! And overwhelmingly joyful that everyone is home safe and sound!
