I’m looking for options. I want to put bellflowers on but I want to keep the car the way it is! I don’t want to put supremes and pinstrip white walls. I really like the rim and white wall setup as it is with with rings and caps. I know everybody like the bellflower setup with the supremes but I’m looking to be a bit different. Don’t hold back what’s on your mind!!?? Thanks guys much appreciated![IMG]

Love it, looks low, might drag with bell flowers on ramps?

  4. I don't think Supremes with narrow whitewalls are a prerequisite for Bellflower pipes.

I'd just put full hubcaps on it and call it a day.

  6. Bellflower tips and flashy full wheel covers. I'm sure Oldsmobile made some good ones.
    These from '50-'53 I think.

  8. I don't think chrome wheels are required either. I think bellflowers would look pretty good on your car. A lot of the GM cars of that era have rear quarter shapes that are just begging for them....

    Bellflowers, yes! Regardless.
Personally, I think these cars look great in two-tone. Painting beneath the trim in either silver/charcoal
or deep maroon would make your wheels pop!

How about having the Photoshop wizards give you an example?

I actually have the original hub caps for the car and there in real good condition! I took me some elbow grease and a 12 pack but I got them cleaned up real good!

Like your Olds. I'd say no to the Bellflower pipes. (I'm not a fan.) They look good on some cars but not on all of them. If you look at the pictures that Sancho posted, they look good on the Caddy but to me the pipes take away from the Ford. I think that the car has to have a body line to compliment the Bellflowers.

I found these pics of an Olds with Bellflower pipes. I might change my mind looks kind a kool.....

  20. Spider caps and rings for sure! I prefer to see Bellflowers with fender skirts as the lines just seem to flow better on a tail dragger to me.

I used to have a '64 Olds lowrider with bellflowers and Rader wheels/gold line tires and I thought the pipes worked really well on it because of the long, flat quarter panel overhang, I think they would work equally well on your Olds since they could run parallel to that quarter panel molding. I'd probably get short ones and have them exit the quarters right where that molding changes direction instead of coming out from inside the wheelwell.

I must say, I prefer the look of your car with the Supremes. The wide whites are fine, but to me, those spider caps on painted steel wheels say stripped down street machine to me, which doesn't really apply to the car. If it was a '55 Chevy 2 door sedan or something I think they'd work better. But that's only my opinion. They might work better if you had a set of the little inner trim rings to go with the outer rings.

Quoting GaryB from a thread back in 2010, "dropped on the ground w/ supremes, pinner whites and some pretty kick ass panel&lace paint" was the way it was done back in the 50's and 60's so that is kind of what i expect to see when i see a car with bellflowers. I like the looks of them but they seem to make a statement that makes me want to see more in a car. Your car is the correct era and stance for them, If you decide to go that way, i think you should go just a little further to complete the transformation..............

What he said! No need for Bellflower kickstands on any car unless you tuck them in like Larry did on his '59 Caddy.
