Ironic that I ran across one of your post just yesterday and wandered if you still came around, clicked on your profile and saw it had been a few months, glad to see you chime in!

I miss your road trips...

 

Although I never met you but have a fond remembrance. Not sure how many years ago (12??) it has been but the Power Tour started in Lincoln Nebraska. A high school friend's son, David, wanted to attend but he was suffering from cancer and he wasn't sure if he could even attend one day because of the fatigue (he had a 70 Dodge Challenger RT/SE 383 and it was near perfect. I remember it was a darned chilly day and I had a "not" warm enough jacket on and saw you pull in the big Olds convert with NO TOP. You had to be tough He passed away that fall. One of his wishes (because the car had given him a lot of grief in my shop during some of the rework) that he asked was that some of his ashes be ran through the carburetor at his funeral. His close friends drove the Challenger up next to the grave site and did exactly that. Even though the car is off thread I think anyone reading this thread understands. RIP David, wish you were here to build another car. He wanted to build an old car with none of the worry of making it "factory". Just not enough time.
