I like anything older in its original state but this is the most interesting configuration of one of these cars one will see, in my opinion;)

People cut up Barracudas all the time. They were made to be fast cars

That may actually be uglier than a stock one.

Starting the mock up process. The frame length is just a wild guess. And the steering box is probably going to be moved around. I need to trim the rear wheel opening on this side, and set the wheel/tire in there. But I think the height is close.

The rear axle will be moved forward 8" like the Chevy, the front will be moved quite a bit more, I plan to stretch the fenders a bunch. And the engine will also be set back about a foot.

I found a neat picture of the Challenger II car with the front exposed. Lots of similarity between this car and my plans.

Tell us what you used to cut that arc...old school snips or something else. Looks great. That is a decent body to start with.

It's all about weight transfer isn't it. Not sure how you drive that sucker on the streets but I am sure you will figure it out.

    Oh, it'll drive just fine.

I cut the body off the floor/chassis with the torch. And I'm trimming the ragged edge with snips, then the angle grinder with a flap wheel.

That's a Corvair box I picked up and reversed. This car came with power steering, so I can't use it's original box.

  28. I saw the thread title, but never looked at it until yesterday. I'm not into humor, so I didn't want to look at 'almost' humor.
Took a look yesterday, now I'm stoked.
There have been some good names suggested, until Jim selects one, I have my thoughts:
    Building on Plan II,
    I will call it
Plan II b. OR Plan 2.b.
You know what the 'b' stands for.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm not decided on the car's name yet, but fortunately I have some time to figure it out. But I want it to be it's own car, not related to other stuff I've done.

And I changed the title, so others in your situation might better see what the thread is about. Thanks for letting me know.
