I simplified it and shortened the front end for proportions sake. Don't know that it's better than what Moose did, just different.

Isn't is amazing how much color can change the entire character of a car....

If rear side window from a Dodge wagon were used, the windows would be sloped and much smaller, AND AVAILABLE..

Moose how bout one with NO B pillar? You know a hardtop wagon?

  10. Maybe a bit closer to your drawing. These wagon conversions only really work if gutter line above the wagon side windows can flow from the original line on the car. I kind of like the result here and there´s no need to alter the original side window. The longer roof balances the long nose and helps lose the slight droopy tail look that these have.

Moose, have a request from a buddy, who I keep showing my photoshops from you. On this '56, can we "clean up" that 1/4 to match, as well as the rocker and headlight cap. Then raise the front 2-3 inches, lose the front bumper, add some Cragar front runners, some 8" piecrust slicks on rims painted body color or 5 spokes on rear. Then if you want, maybe some white fenderwell headers and some traction masters. Basically build us a car... LOL. Starting on it this week for Detroit Autorama basement show. As always, thanks Moose!!! 434.JPG

Thanks to everyone who chimed in on the Avanti-chop! The original request was inspired by a post on Facebook. I'd love to share the various takes.

Again, I really appreciate all your hard work and creativity!

Wow, looks good Moose! We are going to leave the paint as in the pic...dull, keeping the patina. Can we do that? Also, can we go back and leave the original height in the front? Maybe make the front wheels/tires look older? Plan is to make it look like it was just pulled out of an old garage. Sorry, guess I should have said that before! Thanks! Paul

  18. OK Paul...Here's the patina version...I assume that you noticed the the body panels are not all the same shade of blue on the car.

Ooooohhhh, looks good. I'm thinking maybe 5-spokes on the front would be more period. Can we change those out? Maybe use the fronts off my '55. Then maybe one with my rear 5-spokes as well. We're not sure on painted rears or 5- spokes. Thanks much Moose!! Paul

Moose, if ya get a chance, put some decals in the rear side window. We have some we're going to put on. Can use one of these for reference. Snett Super Pumpkin.jpg 45-gasser-photo-gallery-.jpg 29016985550_8b33fe8a1e_b.jpg

this maybe asking a lot but i saw this car (first picture) at the model a museum @ Gilmores in hickory corners MI and i'd like to build a similiar woodie using a 29 model A roadster cowl and fenders, running boards, etc. can someone combine these two concepts to see what it would look like? ford woody 1.jpg 1928-ford-roadster-pickup-hot-rod-1.jpg

I had a rethink on the Studebaker Pickup idea. A few spiked eggnogs later, I came up with this.

  29. What would it look like as a roaster pickup woody? (Wood cab behind cowl, and wood bed).

    That's what she said.
