I drove by this last weekend and stopped in today, holds a roll of hay for feeding. About 8 feet in diameter, I can picture a pickup cab in there with 360% of access for bodywork repair and paint prep. Bob
If TSC sells them in 14' diameter, there might be somebody who sells smaller ones. Any farmers on the HAMB who might know?
The one in my photos is around 8 foot diameter, I'm six foot tall and can touch the top of the ring. Bob
Well, I guess if you are being picky about me not reading, I can be picky about you doing the same. I didn't say anything about 14", I was talking about 14'. I guess we should both spend more time reading, and less time typing. I think the original idea is a great, economical solution.
If I did it every day I would pursue it... For now I bolt a brace from the cowl to the tulip panel and stand the body on the firewall...tied off to the ceiling ...
Mine was a fat finger typo on a touch screen they (',") are right next to each other. However 8 and 14 requires some effort
I'm kinda liking where this thread is going- could we not get it closed because of a keyboard pissing match, please?
Well, I'm just waiting for the HAMB spelling police to swoop down on "Rotisary" and not rotisserie...
Okey Dokey then. Built this primarily to finish the glasswork on the bottom side. Found a pair of half hoops at the local trailer supply shop and cut them in half making four pieces and welded two each together, seems very strong with additional bracing. These are intended for the forward framework on enclosed trailers. Made it portable so it can be taken outside to work on weather permitting.
It's galvanized, but it's not EMT electrical tubing. It's 16 gauge Ø1-3/4 tube according to the specifications on the website. Keep in mind that these things need to be able to withstand abuse by animals that can weigh as much as a car. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/countyline-galvanized-bale-feeder-8-ft-dia
If that thing is only 8', the only thing I can say is that our local Tractor Supply must have a lot bigger sign than yours. Not saying it's not a clever idea (thinking out of the box), it just looks a little large to me, especially sitting next to that sign.
CountyLine Galvanized Bale Feeder, 8 ft. dia. If you Spelling Bee Winners can also Google Tractor Supply you can get this info since you don't trust me. Sorry for trying to be helpful. Bob 0:00 / 0:00 media.tractorsupply.com/is/image/TractorSupplyCompany/2168066?$prod_det$ Product price $169.99
I made one out of a spool that cable TV cable came on. I split the spool and welded mounts for my 56 Chevy Handyman wagon. It was 7 ft tall and worked great, I had about $150 in it. I photobucket wasn't screwed up I would put up some pictures. If anyone lives close to east central Illinois, I'm done with it and could make someone a hell of a deal on it.
I have 10-12 cows weighing 1200-1600lbs, pushing on them all day...they last about two feeding seasons.
