  5. I too had a Bill Thomas modified Rochester Injector on my 57 Bel Air. Performed flawlessly.

Cool story! I never heard of Bill Thomas either so the tech info adds icing to the cake. Are you going to be racing the car?

  13. This thread needs to be bumped up!
    Your Dad really gets it!!
The car looks like it was put away in '63,
then taken out, washed, filled with gas
and driven to the strip yesterday!
    Can't get any better!

Absolutely love it. I love when early Vettes stay Hot Rodded and don't get restored!!!
The previous owner had no history or contact info from the previous owner he got it from?
Hopefully, someone here recognizes it or produces a vintage photo of it-if not at the drags maybe more likely a pic of it on display at an old indoor car show as it sure was a looker.

The E/T dish mags may place it as a late 60's/early 70's build.
Just my 2 cents; I like the dish mags or even chrome reverse over the ww's on Halibrands as they've been done to death lately (Hot Rod Deluxe, etc.) and because of that the car might be viewed as a new build rather than a survivor.

For as long as I can remember my dad has always not liked slotted mags so they had to go. White walls were my idea because the black walls on halibrands on this car just didn't look good. But we can't all like the same thing. World wouldn't go round

Love the car, My Dad and I were just talking last night about how you hardly ever see these cool old drag style vettes anymore. Did you sell the slots or are they available to be sold?

Takes me back to when both of my brothers ran their 66 big block vettes in the SP classes. One ran B/Sp with a 427-425 and the other ran C/SP with a 427-390 . My brothers biggest win came at the winters at Miami-Hollywood in 67 when he put Bo Laws C/Sp out. We thrashed all day changing a clutch in the pits to get it done in time for eliminations.
There used to be a lot of vettes racing down there in the 60's in SP and M/SP .
Nice Vette you have glad you did not restore it to stock.

Wow..from what I can see looks like the paint polished up nice... Purchased my 1960 C1 in 1983. It too was a drag race car at one time... Yup, my gal was once a stripper...:)

No, you would have no control of what shape the plenum would end up being and you still couldn't reach everywhere that is needed!

Man! That is a beautiful looking car. I know they are not to some folk's taste, but I think the whitewalls really work with the overall package.
