I have around three big road coarse sets and three demo derby sets and several cars couple of the sets are in mint condition I have a large room upstairs in my house I would like to combine the tracks and build a large set up that is road course with along straight for drag racing and continues up a pikes peak type hill climb then back down into the road course... I'll gladly take the blame (or credit) if I, in some way, caused you to start on the roadster. I'll be looking forward to seeing it come together.
Found this early Monogram "Deuce roadster" stuffed in a box in the back bedroom! Built back when I was in junior high and this model was new on the store shelves! You become painfully aware of how far you have come as a modeler, and how lacking your talent still is when you have the opportunity to peer back in your crafting history.
Rudestude, could you please do me a little favor and tell me the diameter of the wire wheel rims on the Hispano-Suiza? I'd like to see if they would work for a T speedster I'm starting. Thanks!
I generally build 1:35 scale armor with the occasional soft skinned vehicle. I built this 1:35 scale 1917 WW1 Australian model T for a fellow HAMBer: Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I thought those were the neatest when they came out,I was too young to build them but have three my uncle built
that's a 1/32 scale kit...what scale are you working with? I have other wire wheels I think they are mostly 1/25 scale stuff I believe I have a old die-casts model T delivery type car/truck that has wire wheels and two sets of the wire wheels with white walls ,model A one is pictured, they are 1/25? If your building in 1/25 scale I have alot of parts that would work for a model T speedster type build ,frames ,axles, some engines , bulb type horns and some body parts both T and A also flat head V-8 engines and parts and early Hemi stuff and a few later,426, just lots of stuff.... If I can help you out contact me.... Sent from my QTASUN1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Got a bit done on the 1/32 32 Roadster slot car build....got the chassis fitted, brought the top down a little, trying different tire&wheel combo's came up with this big&little set.... I tried to fit the chassis with the least amount showing ,less body to cut out, couple more little things then paint....found a beat up 55 body mounted it on a slot chassis also that one will be for the dirt figure 8 track the 34 and 36 body's will be set up as dirt cars also...till next time... Happy Gluing... I got ahold of some of the good stuff the tubes that say DANGER on them instead of NON TOXIC..... Sent from my QTASUN1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Finished this one yesterday. It's one of the earliest 53 Corvettes that has been a race car since the late 50's. It's been sitting the last couple years but saw a lot of action in recent years, and way back.
1/8" aluminum tubing flared on my mini-lathe. I've done a few sets like this and I think they really add a great focal point to a model.
Here is a 40 Ford I originally built in 73 or 74,took it out of storage and built a new chassis for it and installed a bigger motor and repainted the interior. New chassis has a dropped axle this time and the motor is the 390 from the 34 p/u kit.
