Spent an hour today starting the excavation. Do a little a day seeing as I’m a gray haired old fart. Bottom side just has surface rust. Looks to be a 5 window.

What's a body like that worth? I found a body with a lot of lower body rust still on the frame and was going to see if if was for sale, but I'm such a newb I don't know what to expect.

I dug up a partially buried 32 Ford cab several years ago. It was pretty rough, lots of rust in the areas that were buried. The bit that was above ground had a pretty healthy dent in it. I sold it for $200 at a swap meet

  11. Is it just me, or are the panels shown not jiving with the panels of Model As that I've been around. I could be way off, but I just couldn't find a panel - like that long oval-stamped floor pan. Maybe photos - as clear as they are - might make them look different. More pics is always enjoyed on this site.

30-31 Wheel well pattern and cowl band hole are very visible in second round of pics...
That oval panel is under the seat...I know it well as it went missing in my body repair adventure...looked for it everywhere...tip...when you take pieces to shops full of model A parts catalog everything with pics...

Hey @dartracer I'd say a bit more snooping is in order....;)

Glad you're getting after it! Someone can use that bottom, definitely a worthy save, and the excavation story and pics are great too, I'll be watching to see what the rest looks like!

This looks like it could be an interesting build, once it's out, for whoever starts it.

Will he want to keep it or be paid for it once it's out of there? If it's a Coupe and the roof survived, there might be enough there to start a builder/
Great find. Amazing. Just sitting there all these years poking out of the ground waiting to be rescued. Borrow a metal detector and sweep around to see what else is out there!

That's really cool. Good find slow and steady wins the game. You will have it out before you know it. What a great story it would be if enough is left to build.

  19. awesome dig!...if I was closer, I'd help ya...

  22. Thanks, guys. My most familiar references are '28-29 As, so the schooling on the 30-31s is appreciated.

  23. HA! I thought for sure those were roadster doors, but I see now that it IS a coupe.

Take some buckets of water and let the ground soak.

Don't think it's going to be pretty , anything in the dirt returns to dirt , but it wouldn't stop me either , neat find
