  8. Congrats on the new acquisition HRM! Besides bias-plys, are there other plans (while enjoying your new custom of course!)?

Thanks ! I started with a bone stock tudor, installed a S10 subframe, dropped spindles , 350/350 trans and a Gm 10 bolt rear, I ran adpaters so I could run the stock 16" steelies. I sold it to a guy in Missouri.

Just purchased this baby .its been sitting for 7 years .
Side valve turns over nice so plan for a good lowering new trim and chromies with some white walls .
Not sure about paint yet but has very minor rust .

Those last two are diamonds in the rough, IMO. The short-door '46-48 business coupes are less common than the long door club coupes, but I think it's a way prettier body.

  23. An uncommon body-style in an uncommon year.. Really nice looking woody!

Also have to agree with 50Fraud regarding body styles.. The short door coupe is a much prettier body-style in un-chopped form.

IMHO even chopped the business cpe looks better. Too many do a ski slope chop on the club cpe

I agree. It's something how a 9" inch difference in the door length can change the appearance.

  26. Ha, ha. I wear my "ski slope chop" proudly!

But, I do think the short door coupe in stock height is a more beautiful body style! Agree to disagree Phat! :)

Not a problem Dave. It'd be a dull world if we all liked the same thing. By the way nice Merc.

Hey Dave, I was at the grocery store yesterday and on my way out I stopped at the magazine rack, flipped through a couple of mags and saw your car in one of them...congrats!

  30. Thank you! That was a nice surprise for me. The Custom Car Revival was/is a terrific event! My buddy and I had a great time meeting fellow enthusiasts face to face. You might notice my picture in the article holding an award from the great guys at The Old Stillwater Garage in Jersey.. Problem is, they put poor Jerry Conklin's name to the pic.. He won't likely live that down easily!!
