Have not had time to contact hedman but I used an online calculator to size my header requirements. Says 1.77 dia 35.97 length primaries with 3.09 collectors. 1 3/4" sounds about right by t would like to allow for future upgrades like cam and heads. Should I just build 1 7/8" or will it hurt my current combination? Can't afford to do everything at once
I would try and get to the track with some tune up parts and some good help and see whats going on with your current package and work forward from there. Then if you find that it is just a wrong setup be it headers or what ever... then you can make a plan for your expectation. And we all know that drill..... gears.... heads...intake...cam....carbs....and on and on.
The 1 7/8 will not hurt your combo. you may lose a little bottom end torque, but middle to top end will be fine.
Haven't had a chance to contact hedman but I did use a calculator online to size my primary tubes. With my current combination it says I need 1.77 primaries 35.97 long and 3.09 collectors 1 3/4" sounds pretty close but if I want to do a cam change and possibly heads in future would I be better off doing 1 7/8"? Will that hurt my performance by going too big? Can't afford to do everything at once but still trying to plan for future upgrades.
I would like to know more about them as well. The price seems fair. Every thing is owned by Holley. Like Walmart owns the world...... Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Are you upgrading the heads? How large are the intake runners? I have heard good things about Quick Fuel but have not had my hands on any yet. Maybe next year if I can get a bottom end together.....I am asking Santa for a pair of 750 Q series.
I have a quick fuel ss 750 double pump now. It's a great carb. Nice features. My nephews buying it for his 357. You'll be happy with qf. I'd look into the brawlers before I popped for q series. There's a comparison on you tube. Brawler q series and track warrior on a 427 sbf
Oh yeah. I plan to upgrade heads as soon as I can afford it. 190cc runners. Want something closer to 205 210. Keep thinking bout those ported pro comps off gabes falcon. Hate to get pro comps again but they've been ported and set up and proven to make power.
Guess that would depend on the price point. Be hard to get a out of the box head to work to it best without working on it.

A Holley 830 hp with annular boosters would make a nice choice to. I'm looking for a 950 hp for my 502 BBF. Supposed to be a great carb for a lot of combinations.
Yeah. We have a local race engine guy here that has a flow bench. My concern is my runners are too small to start with
on my 402w street car I run the AFR 205 heads. vic jr manifold with a good Hr cam 240 248 over 600 lift. 950 carb def. 750 was way to small.. dyno don't lie.. I made 560 with 536 torque. all under 6000 rpms..
It would be interesting to see the quarter mile times that would be gained by going from 750 to 950. My guess would be maybe a 1/10 at best 2/10's, maybe nothing. Dyno's aren't the whole story.
all I know is my 402w didn't like the 750. the 950 cfm carb woke this puppy up.. and timing was at 32..
Talked to local engine builder. Wants to look my heads over. Flow them. See if he thinks they're worth doing some work on.
