I drug these two back out to finish, both had paint issues and came close to being used for parts. It took about a year to get the paint off the 36.

  11. I have been watching your build and it’s looking good. Funny thing, I haven’t built an aircraft since I was a kid but bought a few before prices began to shoot up. The B-17 is a real favorite of mine though I have yet to build it. I had just taken it and a P-38 out the day you started your post. I call that confirmation...

    Good Day All......
I'm pulling this one from the archives...this 61 Ford Falcon was built in 1977-78 to replicate my first car , the build included some details of the actual cars history..starting with color, toilette bowl blue with primer gray front clip, then the Interior was painted with black rattle can vinyl paint, door panels wood veneer and I had wire wrapped around steering column to hold shift lever on ...bald tires and I even included a dent in the gas tank that I got when one day the car rolled down the driveway and landed on a pile of rocks....all of these things are included in the model.....[IMG] actual car....pic taken of the rock climbing event...next pics are of the model...[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]then to add to the story one day I was watching a movie on TV ,sometime in the 90's, named "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" and to my surprise was my Falcon , the real car, on TV in the movie.... I don't think it was actually my old car but it sure looked like it...odd thing...anyway this last picture is of the Falcon from the movie..... I sold my car around 1977 in Oregon the movie I believe came out in the early 90's and was filmed in Texas....what's the chances ????????[IMG]

Stopped by a thrift store on a rainy day last week and saw this old toy wooden car. Bought it for a few bucks and checked it out. Turns out it is a Holgate Sportster #633 toy car from 1941. Made a pair of the wood peg people and spare that were missing, cleaned it up and added the car to my collection.
Decided to make a template of the car with some minor design changes and created my own wood version of this sportster. Turned out pretty good so it looks like I'll be making a few more for the some Grandnephews and other little people in the Family.

Started working on a 3d model which in the future will be a 1:8 printed body. Rough mock of stance and engine.[IMG]

WOW! Will it be a solid model or a shell like a resin cast car model? Gary
