Here is a pic of the beatnik bandit from 1966. I have not seen another picture of it in this paint scheme ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1458310930.026618.jpg

I painted that at Ray Farhner's shop in Kansa City in about '65. I didn't bother to take a photo at the time. This is only the second photo I have seen of this paint job, the other being in a recent Rodder's Journal coverage of the photography of Roger Kilborn.

this roadster/pu was finished in 1963 & was shown alot. brought out of retirement & re-furbished for World of Wheels in Omaha this weekend (March 18-20, 2016).....if you look closely, the frame is upholstered, not removable covers, but actually upholstered. the suspension, & everything is bolted on top of it. it has a massively chromed running gear with a 57Olds J2 tri-power. owner said it never scored lower than 1st when he was showing it. upholstery & running gear is all original with just a few paint touch-ups. 2016-03-16 03.33.15.jpg 2016-03-16 03.33.41.jpg

the fuel tank is on the passenger side, between the torque tube and the frame rail just ahead of the rear axle. the cap is accessible from under the seat cushion. It is a very small tank about 1 gallon, just like the one on the real car

Same here! I have been mesmerized by the MegaCycle since I saw it in 1967 when it first came out.
