Very understated yet wow. You'd walk past other high dollar cars just to crawl around that car.

Not a big fan of the wheels, but the car is nice.

No question he is talented and while I generally don't care for most of his stuff, this is really nice.

The wheels are starting to grow on me!

  8. J.A.Miller, Always try and do a quicky search before posting stuff like this. Did not seem to be a thread exclusive to this car. It deserves much more attention. If memory serves me, he has been building this for a long time.
Floater03, as far as the wheels, most likely one-offs. Personally I dig them. Tired of seeing the same ole same ole.

Hate the wheels, love the crazy headers. It doesn’t sound like s flathead v8 anymore that’s for sure. Video of it idling around it’s pretty cackle-y I dig it

the wheels are awful, the car is cool, but it almost has to be. It looks like a stock bodied 32 five window

Never said it was an exclusive thread, just that there were comments about the car. Sorry for the confusion.

Love to see this up close as Chip is fanatical when it comes to details. Besides it a Duece Coupe, nuff said.

I sure would like to see it in a different setting as those reflections don't do the car any favors.
Moriarity is right, its gonna be a cool deuce if Chip had his hands in it, but, myself, I dig any iteration of a Halibrand wheel regardless of the car they're on, hell I even like that sectioned early 50's Ford with those style wheels and that era of Ford is one I like the least (sorry).

The reflections confused me when I first saw the pics.

  16. I would park it in my garage any day of the week, sometimes the simple style is hard to beat, even Mr. Foose couldn't improve on one of Henry's finest designs. HRP

  17. The wheels look like the cutter in a pepper grinder. He could have done much better for the style of the car.

    So which is it?
    a. Restoration
    b. Hot rod
    c. Street rod

  20. Another resto-rod with ugly color, ugly wheels.... Shades of the 70s....

Would have looked waaay better with a set of wire wheels (if you can get past the color).

Wow! Chip is such an inspired car builder! Who da thought of taking a 32 5 window and not chopping it, running fenders and boards, full hood, stock style interior, a flathead and those wheels. He and Richard Rawlings are gifts to hot rodding and reality television.

The nice thing about wheels is they are easily changed. This attempt at making a familiar style wheel unique would work for me if the car was chopped and had a hemi, but is a swing and a miss here. But, it is still a great car I would love to own.

I visited Chip's shop in August while on vacation. He was in the process of building the '32. Even in pieces, it was the cleanest, highest quality '32 I have ever seen.

Guess I should clarify: the wheels are just too busy for me. I get it though. The owner designs wheels, so he had to do his thing. Mag wheels in general are coming back for traditional rods, but I think Chip has a “one of a kind” set there.

Putting Chip and Richard Rawlings in the same sentence is an insult to Chip. Rawlings is an egotistical drunk that has no talent !!!
