History Cars & Trucks with a rake, all invited to this thread

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by HOTRODPRIMER, Jul 28, 2015.

  1. Depending on what side of the argument you are on there are 50 or 52 states the make up the United States of America and in my humble opinion there are vastly more raked cars & trucks throughout the country.

Many seem to be under the impression that the left coast owns the title for raked cars & trucks. keep posting from the other 49 or 51 other States. :D HRP

  4. Saw this '40 on a thread the other day. Don't recall what thread or even if it has been posted but the stance is perfect.

????????? i don't see the tires fitting fender opening, a common error on '39. 40's and 34 fendered cars, and 53-56 ford pu.

  8. Oh now I get it. ;)

I think that is the reason that some custom builders in the '50s and '60s radiused the fender openings, easier than moving the axle.

You and I think alike on that aspect, I cannot tell you how many 1st Gen effies I have screwed with to get the tire in the middle of the hole.

  11. Might just be one of those optical illusions,it appears the photo was taken fairly close and in a standing position, everything else seems so spot on. HRP

  23. When we started to build this truck Dave was looking for a 1932 cab but the 34 cab was so nice we decided to remove the front firewall mounts add drop them so they would sit flush on a '32 frame, for people that are not familiar with the differences in the 32-34 cabs, the firewall in 32 is removable but the 33/34 is not and they are pushed out into the engine bay by a additional 2 inches, which is a plus for long legs.

The 32 & 33 cabs are pretty much identical but the 34 has a large pronounced stiffing belt line rib to go along with the two that mimics the 32/33.

When we were building it we joked about the truck being confused,it's really a 34 but want's to be a 32 and the majority of people that see the truck doesn't know the difference, even sitting beside another 32 pickup. HRP

If that happened the H.A.M.B. would easily loose 1/3 of it’s commentary
