Event Coverage 1st Annual Dragstrip Riot Orlando Speedworld

Hey Boy's n Girls, With all the fervor from recent Bowling Green, Meltdown Drags and Jalopy Showdown...seems like the perfect time to drop the hammer and announce The Dragstrip Riot. Our very own Misfires CC, will be hosting the event, at Orlando Speed-world, October 28th. There was a void that needed to be filled and people begging for a day to "put the pedal to the metal."
The whole deal was last minute, so still working on all the details. We are very experienced with doing our annual Groundhog Gala show, in Feb, but this will be a first. Hopefully with the help of Ozzie(the track owner) and a whole lot of friends, we can pull it off.
We have some special tricks up our sleeve to provide non-stop entertainment, for all who attend.
To keep with the Halloween theme......
Special guest appearance by The Rebel Reaper and Haymaker as well as Satan's Speed Shop Fiat
Basic info as follows: True 1/4 mile Heads-up racing. Classes for door slammers, rail-jobs, gassers and daily drivers. 1972 and older. Mini-Bike drags is a must(wear you gorilla mask!) Ha!
All racers must pass basic tech inspection.
$12 general admission(kids 12 n under free), $20 car show only, $25 to race. Big modern facility with plenty of parking. easily accessed from all major highways. Also, no shortage of lodging close by, for those coming from out of town. Contemplating after-hours Drive-In movie party, if enough interest develops. Monster Halloween costumes highly recommended
We threw this flyer together, for Bowling Green. FB page and websites will be online soon with tech info. Will be updated this in the following weeks with all the necessary info. We're at less than 100 days, so could not wait any longer.

FB page and website with all details, including Tech Inspection, should be online early this week.

 

Weekend bump. 70 days and counting. Over 75 race cars alone signed up. We're all getting so excited.
Just heard from a guy in Louisiana, making the trek. Tying the trip in with a winter vacation to see his daughter.

43 days and counting. Hurricane Irma has left town. Time to get back on track for the Drags. (pun intended)
Last count we had almost 100 race cars committed. Expecting about 1,500 in attendance...maybe 2,000
Attention vendors and swappers. Plenty of space available. $25 for a 10'x10' space. (flexible of course.)

Seems like a neat event, wish I was there. I was in June but only small local events then to see. Garlits is big name and his place is awesome, but that 7500,- is ridiculous.

 

I couldn't make it, looking forward to seeing photos!

 

We had BIG fun, running with Sgt Mike, we won first round (when he redlit) then we broke a transmission, and were unable to run again... I'm sensing a rematch when we get it fixed !!

 

I got there early but couldn't stay too long. Neat deal. Naturally, a dirt tracker caught my eye at a drag race. Duh. Later, Gary
