Recently I had gotten my uncles 47 Ford truck running and driving. After a slumber since 1980 she ran really smooth, even better than expected!
Unfortunately if I was pulling a steep hill I would run out of fuel.
I replace the mechanical fuel pump. Same problem.
Put an electric fuel pump on it also. Same problem.
Pulled the fuel sending unit out and voila!
Dead mouse in the gas tank!
That will do it sure as shit!
There is some of that in there too by the way.[IMG]

  3. First for me, never would of guessed.
Considering the amount of turds it must have been empty when he decided it would make a great home.
Tank looks good though. You could always siphon the stuff out, just not the mouth and hose method.:)

As saturated with gas as this little guy is. I am going to make a small funeral pyre for him!
Send the little guy straight to Valhalla![IMG]

    Haha!
My wife said I am a bit twisted and this was a little disturbing. That made the experience even more entertaining!
I love my wife, she knows me well

I have an old John Deere dozer with a 2-53 Detroit for power. It started shutting off one afternoon shortly after I fueled it from a 5 gallon can. I pulled the glass off the sediment bowl and nothing came out. Put the bowl back on, unhooked the fuel line so I could blow back through it and blew the stoppage back into the tank. It ran about 10 minutes and shut off again. This time I siphoned the fuel out and took off the 1/4 inch brass elbow between the tank and the sediment bowl. It had a big moth in it that must have been in the can. The moth was just the right size to fit end wise into the fitting and plug it completely.
