Randy and I are working on another shop truck hopefully completed in the next month.
Started out as a solid Indiana project neglected and moved outside until we took it on.
As always, down to the frame that's sandblasted and painted after all new front and rear suspension is installed.
    302/AOD/8.8 posi rear.
Body stays stock with all new glass and interior.
    More pics to come. 20170510_200310.jpg 20170510_200322.jpg 20170530_110203.jpg 20170811_104438.jpg

Man I remember cutting into the same fenders to make repairs . My repairs lasted about 8 years , driving daily in the salt belt .These were great trucks , keep up the good work and drive it like you stole the last 5 bucks of gas on the planet !

    Early Ford Store.
They're pricey but I was getting tired of making the bottoms. Worked out well.

    Getting closer.
Should be able to get exhaust done next week.
    It runs and stops. 20171009_185040.jpg 20171012_135753.jpg 20171012_135803.jpg 20171012_135827.jpg

20171014_162821.jpg Finishing up the nose today.
    Interior and glass next week.
Evidently there is little interest in trucks here. Oh well, I'll keep posting til it's done. 20171014_162749.jpg 20171014_162715.jpg

Just because you don't get comments doesn't mean folks aren't watching what you do. Like what you are doing with the truck. Nice build.

I am guilty just as well, just because I do not comment does not mean am watching.
My uncle has a 52 f-5 with extremely low miles, 27k? Been parked since the 60's.
My first truck was a 51 f-1 flathead 8/3 speed, drove it in high school.

I am thinking of using it for a future project, I can buy it for $500.
I have no interest in a f-5 sized truck, but the sheet metal and engine is to good of a start to pass up.

  23. Great work, and yeah, lots more of us are watching than commenting.

Lots of interest on here. I have a 49 F 1 that has been on the road for several years. Drive it a lot when the snow is not too deep. Always pay attention to truck projects. Thanks.

I’m a Chevy guy through and through but there are a few Fords I really like particularly the ‘48-‘52 F1’s. Years ago one of the magazines did a feature on a ‘48-‘50 in school bus yellow with red steelies, beauty rings and dog dish caps. It had an early Hemi. I STILL think if I ever got an F1 I’d want to duplicate that one. They’re such nice trucks.

  26. Nice work...Watching. I have a 48 F1 with a similar set up that I drive every chance I get.

    Thanks for the interest guys.
These are a lot of work to do, especially cranking them out this quick.
Thought maybe it was too new.

    Let's see,
Gas tank is a universal from Tanks Inc.
Column is a CCP unit and gauges are Dolphins. Radiator is off Ebay 22"x19"
The seat is stock but recut and padded.
I cut the riser almost 3".
I had a '51 F1 for a while but sold it to build a '36 Ford pickup. Missed the F1 so bad I sold the '36 to build another F1.
    Just like the body style.

I'll post more when we get her buttoned up.

Nice n clean. F1's have a surprising lot of construction in common with 39-40's. They just got nostrils.

  30. Nice build..coming right along.
