Nice day here in the FallOut event in my hometown. Very well attended by a nice variety of rods and customs. Unfortunately my cell phone died before I had the chance to photograph an interning 60ish custom based on what I think might have been a 40 Mercury convertible. Would love to know more about that car.

    Ted,

No problem and thanks for adding so many detailed photos!

Did anyone else see the custom I mentioned (I know--no pics it didn't happen) but there was a custom I think was built off a 1940 Merc convertible with the rear trunk sealed off and the line brought back to cover the rear seats making it a two seater, 58 Chevy tail lights frenched in, a Hallock styled windshield, y block engine and a number of other mods and a real patina making me think it came out of the early 60's.? Damned cell phone died and when I had it charged up the car was gone. It was white--maybe a ghost?

Thank you. That's the one though the carb set up different now.

I talked with you a while at your car so blame me for missing that custom.

I also want to give a shout out to Dave, one of the vendors and overall kind person who followed up after finding my sunglasses that had "fallen out" of my pocket by contacting me this morning and arranging to meet me to retrieve them. Thank you Dave!

The 40 Merc was originally done in 1946, it was updated in 58 with the lights and headrests and basically untouched since then. It was also updated with the Y block at that time. Mark Conforth is the 3rd owner and has had it since 1983
