There are some nice cars shown so far but how did the thread get this far without Buddy George's coupe 173971-500-0@2x.jpg

Rollin\' Relics 2008 Car Show 020.jpg Lots of nice cars here, but this is my favorite. My Grandfather bought this car new in March of 1934
from Gastell Ford in Merced Ca. It was originally Cordoba Grey, but my dad wanted to re-paint it
Coach Maroon, it's still Maroon today. They're gone now, but I have the beautiful Ford to remember
them by. God I miss my Dad.....

I think I've got a photo of Buddy's car that I took myself back in the 70's. Let me dig around tomorrow and see if I still have it. While I'm looking here's a link to an article about Buddy and the car that appeared in Hemmings back in 2010.

    https://www.hemmings.com/magazine/hmn/2010/03/1934-Ford-Three-window-coupe/2949031.html

When I first met Buddy he had come to Oklahoma and decided he kind of liked it and stuck around for awhile. Interesting guy, he'd be in his 70's now so hopefully he and the coupe are still going strong.

41woody: Just saw your post about Buddy George. Last time I saw him at Hershey he was still kicking....just maybe not quite as high. Still has his 3W , but mostly dragging his nailhead Henry J. What a kool kat!

Bowie, thanks for the update on Buddy, I haven't seen him in years but will always remember him at get-togethers around Oklahoma wearing shorts and cowboy boots, which violates several dress codes in Oklahoma

pretty sure this is the LAST car Dee Wescott worked on.. Karl ? ck in...

Many years ago a customer brought a "33 5 window Coupe for Dee to cut horizontally,
Called (sectioning) Dee started the project, for whatever reason, it never got finished, the Widow of the '33 owner, sold the coupe to Dee, and he worked on it till he died.. I understood Dee's son had Brizio finish the Ford.

Yes, that is the car my dad was working on when he passed. The car was very much unfinished though.

The beginnings of the channel job were about 1958 or so by a teenager in Longview Washington. He cut down the grille in his high school shop class, then brought the car out to my dad's shop to handle the bottom section (the bottom was rusted out). Things progressed but money ran out before the rear fenders were mounted.

The car was owned by several people in the 1959-65 era and was a bit of a fixture in the Portland rod scene before becoming derelict in a gas station used lot. Then it went through several changes of ownership (one lasting only about an hour, part of a 3 way trade) before ending up in a collectors treasure pile. When the collector started selling some excess my dad was able to purchase it. He had loved the car from the time he had first worked on it.

Another high school kid from Portland area wanted to buy it, but could not find the cash. He did manage college and dental school and a successful practice. After my dad passed he heard the car might be available and contacted Roy Brizio to investigate and finish the car. Great result and a great person.
